Area Volleyball: Cardinals take down Huskies

10 area volleyball teams were in action Tuesday, Sept. 28.

PILLAGER — Morgan Becker posted 11 kills and 25 digs for the Staples-Motley Cardinals as they defeated the Pillager Huskies 3-0 Tuesday, Sept. 28.

S-M’s Leah Bestland added 27 assists, seven digs, three aces and three kills, Bo Erholtz tallied 10 kills and five blocks and Maggie Clausen finished with 33 digs for the Cardinals.

Pillager’s Lauren Bordwell totaled six kills, nine digs, and two blocks, while Bridget Danielson dished out 19 set assists for the Huskies.

LITTLE FALLS — Kelsi Martini contributed seven aces and six digs for the Pequot Lakes Patriots as they defeated the Little Falls Flyers 3-0 in non-conference action Tuesday, Sept. 28.

Maci Martini tallied 14 kills and 6 digs, while Ella Kratochvil added six kills and 11 digs for the Patriots who moved to 12-2 on the season.

PRIOR LAKE — Lake Region wasted little time as they swept the Prior Lake Royals 3-0 Tuesday, Sept. 28.

The Hornets won by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-10.
