Area Wrestling: Aitkin dominates 2 Mid-State matches

Four area wrestling teams took to the mats Saturday, March 6.

AITKIN — Nathan Trotter and Kenny Erickson both went 2-0 with a pair of pins for the Aitkin Gobblers who swept both of their matches Saturday, March 6.

Aitkin shutout Staples-Motley 67-0 and defeated Park Rapids 66-15 in Mid-State Conference matches.

Marshall Larson, James Erickson, Carson Kullhem, Jack Grell, Josh Hagesteun, Hunter Hill, Nathan Stifter and Sam Ostrode all finished 2-0 for the Gobblers.

Staples-Motley defeated the Park Rapids Panthers 57-21 in the third match.

Winning with pins against Park Rapids were Colbe Tappe, Owen Winter and Dalton Wells.

PERHAM — John Paul Fitzpatrick went 2-0 with a pin for the Crosby-Ironton Rangers who split at the Perham Triangular Saturday, March 6, losing 62-10 to the Yellowjackets and defeating Roseau 60-13.

Dillan Barna also finished 2-0 for the Rangers who ended their regular season 13-16.

Little Falls splits

LITTLE FALLS — Ryan Kloeckl and Gabe Nagel were the only Flyers to go 2-0 as Little Falls split a pair of matches in the Flyer Triangular Saturday, March 6.

Little Falls defeated the Milaca Wolves 62-15 and were defeated 48-12 by the Annandale/Maple Lake Cardinals.
