ALBANY — Staples-Motley’s Owen Bjerga won the 160-pound title and the Cards finished eighth at the Albany Purple Pride Invite Friday, Feb. 7.

Bjerga won his first two matches with a fall and a major decision. He then improved his record to 34-1 with a 13-5 major decision over Hutchison’s Cale Luthens in the championship match.

ROYALTON— Jacob LeBlanc, Trevor Radunz, Riley Hoskins and Tanner Young gained wins by pin for Pierz in a 48-30 non-conference loss to Royalton/Upsala Friday, Feb. 8.

The Pioneers ended the regular season with a 7-18 record and move on to the Section 8-2A tournament as the No. 3 seed.
