Area Wrestling: Road Crew sweeps home tri

Six area wrestling teams were in action Thursday, Feb. 25.

PINE RIVER — Caleb Rulh, Finnegan O’Dell, and Chance Abraham each recorded two pins as the Class 2A’s eighth-ranked Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus Road Crew picked up two wins against Crosby-Ironton and Spectrum Thursday, Feb. 25.

The Road Crew beat C-I 68-9 and Spectrum 75-3.

Also picking up two wins for PL/PRB were Parker Zutter, Easton Miller, Max Trumpold, Owen Carlson, Trey Tuchtenhagen, Connor Tulenchik, Corbin Knapp, Payton Scott and Riley Peters.

Tulenchik notched his 150th career with his pin against Spectrum at 182 pounds.

Crosby-Ironton beat Spectrum 56-21.

John Paul Fitzpatrick went 2-0 with a pin and a technical fall for the Rangers. Jake Klancher was also 2-0.

LITTLE FALLS — Gabe Nagel and Eli VanRisseghem won with pins for the Little Falls Flyers who were defeated 58-19 by Class 2A’s 12th-ranked Big Lake in a dual match Thursday, Feb. 25.

Ryan Kloeckl scored a major decision for the Flyers and Peyton Carll won by decision.

ALBANY — Kenny Erickson tallied two wins by pin as Aitkin earned a split at the Albany Triangular Thursday, Feb 25.

The Gobblers defeated Albany 47-24 and lost to Class 2A’s fifth-ranked Foley Falcons 44-21.

The Cards defeated New York Mills 37-31 and breezed past Ottertail Central 61-18.
