Area Wrestling: Young places 2nd for Pierz

BIG LAKE — Tanner Young’s second-place finish at 182 pounds was the top showing for the Pierz Pioneers who placed ninth in the Big Lake Invitational Friday, Dec. 6.

Young went 2-1 and lost a 13-3 major decision to Tyson Meyer of Minnewaska in the championship match.

Trevor Radunz was third at 120 pounds. He finished 3-1 with three pins, losing only to Goy Gunderson of Kerhoven-Murdock-Sunburg by fall in the semifinals.

Collecting fifth-place finishes for the Pioneers were Ross Boser, Riley Hoskins and Brandon Schlegel.
