Thanks to quick thinking by Crosslake residents and animal experts, a baby eagle was reunited with its family.

The baby eagle was discovered May 29 out of it's nest in Crosslake. The eagle was found in the brush between two driveways. One of the land owners, Lindsey Koch, called the DNR office and the rescue mission began.

Conservation officer Robert Haberman was able to transport the eagle to Wild and Free in Garrison for examination by Dr. Deb Eskedahl. After no abnormalities were found, plans were made to get the baby eagle back into its nest.

On June 2, one of the Garrison Animal Hospital's veterinary technicians, Kiera Kightlinger, transported the eagle back to Crosslake. There she met with Haberman and Mike's Tree Company who volunteered time to put the baby eagle back in its nest.
