Joel Martin went 3-for-5 as the Brainerd Bees opened their season Friday with an 8-7 exhibition win over the Fort Ripley Rebels at Adamson Field.

Also for the Bees, Tristan Brecht was 2-3 with two walks, Tom Fairbanks hit an RBI triple and Paul Augustinack and Allan Jevning doubled.

Fort Ripley's Rhett Williamson and Brian Skulzacek were 2-4 and Billy Sather was 2-5 with a double and two RBIs.
