with Fort Ripley after defeating the Rebels 12-5 on Saturday and holding off the Pierz Bulldogs 3-2 on Sunday.

Lastrup Lakers 4, Buckman Billygoats 1

BUCKMAN – The East Division leading Lastrup Lakers picked up three runs in the bottom of the sixth and shut down the second-place Buckman Billygoats 4-1 on Sunday.


Winning pitcher Chad Weiss and losing pitcher Jeremy Monson both threw complete games with neither giving up a walk. Weiss struck out five and only allowed three hits.

St. Mathias Devils 8,

Cuyuna Miners 2

ST. MATHIAS – The St. Mathias Devils tallied five runs in the bottom of the first and cruised to an 8-2 win over the Cuyuna Miners Sunday.

Josh Haberman picked up the win for the Devils while Jake Lynn was tagged with the loss.

FORT RIPLEY – Logan Kalis came on in relief with two on and nobody out in the ninth to shut down a Pierz rally as the Fort Ripley Rebels held off the Brewers 5-4 Saturday.

Bill Sather went the first eight innings in picking up the win.


Brian Skluzacek, Ray Austin, and Kalis all had doubles for the Rebels.

Skluzacek, Rhett Williamson and Brad Waytashek had two hits apiece.

The Brewers were led by two-hit performances from Josh Boser and Eric Boser. Eric Boser and Steve Kimman each contributed doubles.

Royalton 2-9 (11 innings)

PIERZ – The Royalton Riverdogs dropped a pair of 11-inning games Saturday, losing 3-2 to the Pierz Bulldogs in the afternoon and 10-9 to the Pierz Brewers in the nightcap.

Aaron Schultz went all 11 innings for the Bulldogs in the first game, striking out 13 and allowing just three hits.

Matt Gottwalt also tossed a complete game for the Riverdogs, scattering three hits.

In Game Two, winning pitcher Jerron Boser also scored the winning run in the 11th when he scampered home on an errant throw to first.

Boser was the fifth pitcher of the game for Brewers, throwing the final 1.2 innings. He was also 2-3 at the plate, scoring four runs while walking twice and was hit by a pitch.

Eric Boser, Mitch Dorn and Aaron Weber also had two hits apiece for the Brewers.

Matt Merten ripped a double for the Riverdogs while Steve Hoff and Adam Yourczek had two hits each.

CROSBY- The Buckman Billygoats held off the Cuyuna Miners 6-5 in an East/North interdivision game Saturday.

Corey Egan was 3-5 with a double for the Billygoats while Jaron Brezinsky led the Miners with two hits.

Ben Boser picked up the win for Buckman, going seven innings, before Shawn Lanners came on for the final two innings to register a save.

ST. MATHIAS – A two-run homer by Rick Schlieman and three hits each by Brandon Lochner and Shawn Fisher led to a 7-2 Lastrup Lakers win over the St. Mathias Devils Saturday.

Jason Gross pitched the first six innings, allowing only two hits, before giving way to Lochner, who threw the final three to pick up the save.

Nisswa 12,

Fort Ripley 5

FT. RIPLEY – Jason Roepke belted a pair of three-run homers and went seven innings on the mound to as the Nisswa Lightning handed the Fort Ripley Rebels their first loss of the season in North Division play Saturday.

Roepke finished 3-6 at the plate and was the pitcher of record, striking out four while giving up eight hits and five runs.

Jeremiah Piepkorn and Adam Hardy both went 2-5, each with a double, and Aaron Jenkins was 2-5 with a pair of RBIs and two runs for Nisswa.

Rhett Williamson finished 3-4 with an RBI double for the Rebels. Logan Kalis was 3-5 with a double.
