MONTICELLO - Jake Meyer allowed only four hits but the Warriors were unable to get things going offensively in a 2-1 non-conference loss to Monticello that snapped a four-game Brainerd winning streak Friday.
Meyer went the distance striking out five and walking two while giving up two unearned runs.
Monticello pitcher Danny Blackstone also threw a complete game giving up one earned run and three hits while walking four and striking out one.
"Both pitchers pitched very well," said Brainerd head coach Lowell Scearcy. "It was just the kind of game where nothing much happened offensively. There weren't any earned runs in the game."
Taylor Streiff and Tristan Brecht doubled and Meyer had the only other Warrior hit with an infield single.
