Baseball: Rushmeyer shines in Mid-Summer Pony League Classic

Noah Rushmeyer belted a 3-run homer to earn Most Valuable Player honors and led the American League over the National League 13-4 in the 20th annual Mid-Summer Pony League Classic Monday, July 8, at Bane Park.

Rushmeyer also pitched two scoreless innings.

The National League MVP was Eric Eidenshik who singled, walked three times, stole three bases and scored a run.

Also for the American League, Payton Whirley collected three hits, Jack Schafer had two hits and scored three runs, and Micah Hammer doubled and scored three runs.

Landen Makin fanned five batters in two innings of work for the National League. Teammate Jake Weber hit a single and double to drive in one run.
