Former Brainerd Warriors head baseball coach Lowell Scearcy has been elected to the National High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame.
Coaches from across the nation are nominated by their state association. In the case of Scearcy the Minnesota High School Coaches Association. Those nominated are then selected for induction.
The induction ceremony will be June 25 during the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame Banquet in Bismarck, N.D.
Scearcy retired last June from a 51-year coaching career that included 125 seasons of baseball, football, basketball, track and field and cross country. His most recent positions were the Warriors head baseball coach and Pillager High School football coach.
Scearcy was also a high school football and basketball official for 35 years.

He was president of the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association in 1994 and is a member of several different halls of fame.
