Colin Kleffman homered and drove in three runs as the Brainerd Warrior sophomores opened the season Tuesday with a 5-1 victory over the Moorhead Spuds.
McCale Peterson finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Hunter Wicklund and Max Boran also had two hits apiece and Bryce McConville doubled for the Warriors.
Boran worked four innings to get the win. He allowed no hits and no runs, walked two and struck out eight. McConville earned a save. In three innings, he yielded two hits and one earned run, struck out two and walked two.
