Baseball: WYRQ named Twins radio affiliate of year

WYRQ Radio in Little Falls received the fifth annual John Gordon Award as the station was named the Minnesota Twins radio affiliate of the year Saturday at the Ford Center in Minneapolis.

WYRQ Radio in Little Falls received the fifth annual John Gordon Award as the station was named the Minnesota Twins radio affiliate of the year Saturday at the Ford Center in Minneapolis.

WYRQ received a $5,000 grant to give back to the community. The money will go toward the Little Falls Youth Baseball Field Project.

Al Windsperger of WYRQ Radio and Rusty Gwost, president of the Little Falls Youth Baseball organization, attended the event.

The award is given to the Twins radio affiliate that has given back to its local baseball community by promoting the Minnesota Twins and youth programs in its area.
