Michael Laber ripped an RBI double to center field to put Brainerd up 2-1 in the third inning of their first game of a doubleheader Monday, July 8. Brainerd ended losing to the St. Cloud 76ers 4-2.

Laber ended up adding a single to his two hit game going 2-3. Colin Kleffman picked up an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Gunnar Wicklund smacked a double and Renzen Caughey went 1-3 with a run scored.

Josh Hukriede pitched five innings and allowed four runs and ten hits. He struck out one batter and ended up with the loss.

Colby Watland cracked an RBI double in game two of the doubleheader against Cathedral. The double tied the game 2-2 and was the start of a three-run third inning for Brainerd. Watland added a single and a walk going 2-3 for the game, but Brainerd lost again 6-5 to Cathedral.

Marcus Lennartson went 1-3 with two runs scored. Gunnar Wicklund went 2-4 with two singles. Ben Jones hit an RBI single in the fifth inning to put Brainerd up 5-3 a lead that did not last.

Konnor Wicklund pitched only two innings in the second game. He allowed two runs on six hits and struck out two hitters. Ben Jones finished the game on the mound throwing four innings. He allowed four runs, none of them earned, on four hits with five strikeouts. Jones picked up the loss.
