Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his first season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Miami Marlins. On Saturday, July 13, he made his first appearance since the all-star break against the New York Mets.
He came in the game in the top of the eighth inning with the game tied 2-2. Anderson allowed two runs on three hits in his one inning of work. He struck out one batter as well. The two runs came on a Robinson Cano home run. The Marlins would end up losing 4-2 with Anderson getting the loss.
On the year, Anderson is now 2-4 with a 4.46 ERA. He has pitched 38 1/3 innings in 40 appearances and struck out 59 batters.
