College Baseball: Sannes on All-NSIC Second Team
Brainerd High School graduate Drew Sannes of Concordia University in St. Paul was named All-NSIC Second Team this season.
Sannes, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior third baseman, leads the Golden Bears and ranks 142nd in the country with a .373 batting average through 37 starts. He has added a team-best 22 RBIs and a .440 on-base percentage.
Sannes has collected 47 hits in 126 at-bats with five doubles and two triples while drawing 13 walks.
At third base, he has tallied 57 assists and 22 putouts with a .919 fielding percentage.
After going hitless in the opening two games, Sannes hit safely in the next nine straight and 12 of the next 13, batting .469 during that span (23-for-49).
He compiled 14 multi-hit games, including four with three hits and one with four. He's tied for the team lead with six multi-RBI games, including two games with three RBIs and one with four.
Sannes registered four straight multi-hit games from March 7-9 and three straight from March 27-30. He went 4-5 with a double and four RBIs against Minnesota Crookston March 18.
The Golden Bears (23-14) are competing in the double-elimination NSIC tournament May 9-12 at Karras Park and Sioux Falls Stadium in Sioux Falls, S.D.
