Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his first season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays.

He pitched one scoreless inning against the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday, Aug. 6. He came in the top of the eighth inning with the score tied 6-6 and pitched a one-two-three inning with two strikeouts. The Rays would end up winning in extra innings 7-6.

On the season, Anderson is 3-4 with a 3.66 ERA and 75 strikeouts. He has appeared in 48 games and has yet to allow run since being traded to Tampa Bay. In his three outings with the Rays, Anderson has pitched three innings and allowed no runs on one hit with six strikeouts.
