Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his first season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Miami Marlins.

Coming off his toughest outing in the majors, Anderson pitched two scoreless innings in relief to pick up his first major league victory in the Marlins 5-4 victory over Detroit Tuesday, May 21.

Anderson pitched the 10th and 11th innings. He struck out five and walked one and didn't allow a hit to move his record to 1-1.

In 20 games, Anderson has pitched 20 innings. He's allowed 11 runs on 19 hits and eight walks, three intentional. He's struck out 38 and owns a 4.95 ERA.
