SOBIESKI-Matt Kummet homered twice including a grand slam and finished with six RBIs for the Buckman Billygoats who edged the Sobieski Skis 11-8 in a game between division leaders Sunday, May 23.
Both teams entered the game 8-1 with Buckman leading the East and Sobieski atop the West.
Lane Girtz and Joe Kahl both went 3-5 for the Billygoats. Shawn Lanners, Travis Kahl and Jack Suska all contributed doubles while finishing with two hits apiece.
Scott Litchy belted a two-run homer for the Skis. Riley Hirsch, Collin Eckman and Matt Baier had multiple hits.
The game started as a pitchers' dual with Buckman's Jeremy Monson and the Skis' Thomas Miller. Both started by facing the minimum nine batters over three innings. That scoreless tie was broken when Buckman plated five runs in the fourth.
Sobieski took a 6-5 lead in the seventh, but Kummet's grand slam in the eighth put the Goats ahead for good at 10-6.
Mark Kahl was credited with the win in relief and Matt Tautges earned a save as he recorded the final two outs against the Skis who left the bases loaded and the winning run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth.

BUCKMAN-Andrew Rueckert allowed just one hit over seven scoreless innings for the East Division leading Buckman Billygoats who defeated the Pierz Brewers 5-0 in a late afternoon division game Sunday, May 23.
Lane Girtz and Ben Boser each tossed a hitless inning in relief to preserve the shutout.
Matt Kummet finished 3-4 with a pair of RBIs. Shawn Lanners collected two hits, including a triple, and Girtz was 2-4 with a double. Boser and Joe Kahl posted two hits each and Rueckert contributed a double.
Alvin Kimman singled to left in the third for the Brewers only hit.

Nisswa 23, Aitkin 2
AITKIN-Tory Miller and Drew Boland both went 4-6 with two doubles each for the Nisswa Lightning who avenged an earlier loss to Aitkin by crushing the Steam 23-2 in seven innings Sunday, June 23, in a North Division game.
Aitkin tagged Nisswa with one of its two losses, 6-4, on May 12.
Nisswa sent 15 men to the plate and scored nine runs in the top of the first.
Four other players had three hits apiece for the Lightning who outhit the Steam 24-4. Nick Cundy was 3-6 with a double and five RBIs, Jason Roepke finished 3-7 with a double. Ty Swenson scored three runs while going 3-6 and Chris Pederson went 3-5 with two RBIs and four runs. Adam Hardy homered, walked three times and finished 2-3 with five RBIs and four runs.
Aitkin scored both of its runs in the bottom of the third, already trailing 13-0. Quin Miller doubled home Mike Basile and Jesse Henline who reached on infield hits.

ST. WENDEL-The St. Mathias Devils went 1-1 on the day when they split a pair of non-division games Sunday, May 23.
The Devils defeated the St. Wendell Saints 6-1 and were tagged with a 9-0 loss when they were unable to field a complete team against the Avon Lakers. Further details were not available.
Fort Ripley 11, St. Stephen 4
ST STEPHEN-Rhett Williamson homered and five other batters had multiple-base hits for the Fort Ripley Rebels in an 11-4 non-division win over the St. Stephen Steves Saturday, June 22.
Brett Kramer tripled. Zach Heidmann, Bill Sather, Ethan Branum and Jim Kramer contributed doubles.
Brett Kramer earned the win in relief. He struck out eight and allowed just one hit over the final four scoreless innings.
