Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his first season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Miami Marlins.

Anderson collected his first major league save during the Marlins 6-4 win against the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday, June 23.

Anderson entered the game in the bottom of the ninth and allowed one run on one hit. He was able to strikeout former Marlin J.T. Realmuto for his lone strikeout of the day. The run he gave up came on a sacrifice fly.

Anderson faced four batters throwing 18 pitches with 11 strikes.

On the season, Anderson is 2-3 with a 4.88 ERA, four holds to go along with his one save. He has now appeared in 33 games and has struck out 52 batters in 31 1/3 innings pitched with only 13 walks.
