Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his first season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Anderson improved his win-loss total to 5-4 during the Rays’ 5-3 victory Saturday, Sept. 7, against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Anderson entered in the eighth inning and allowed one hit and no runs. He struck out one.

He threw 17 pitches, 14 for strikes.

In 59 appearances this season, Anderson has pitched 57 2/3 innings and has struck out 96 batters. He’s 5-4 with one save and 12 holds. He owns a 3.12 ERA and batters are hitting .214 against him.
