Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his second season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Anderson struck out the side in the Rays’ 8-2 win over the Boston Red Sox Tuesday, Aug. 11.
He entered the game in the bottom of the ninth and faced four batters. He struck out three and allowed one hit.
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, Anderson appeared in the bottom of the eighth inning and struck out two batters in the Rays’ 8-6 win over the Red Sox.
Anderson recorded his second hold of the season and allowed one hit.
For the season, Anderson owns a 1-0 record and two saves. He has 6 1/3 innings pitched and recorded 10 strikeouts. He has yet to allow an earned run in his eight appearances.
