Former Brainerd Warriors pitcher Nick Anderson is in his second season in the major leagues as a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Anderson earned a hold in the Rays pennant-clinching 4-2 victory over the Houston Astros Saturday, Oct. 17.
Anderson pitched two innings and allowed one walk, three hits and two earned runs.
For the postseason, Anderson pitched in seven games and 11.2 innings. He struck out six and allowed six earned runs on 11 hits and three walks for a 4.63 ERA. He has three holds and one save heading into his first World Series appearance against the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday, Oct. 20.
