PILLAGER — Zach Shaw’s seventh-inning grand slam propelled the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines to a 16-11 Park Region Conference win over the Pillager Huskies Friday, April 30.

Shaw finished with seven RBIs total and three runs scored.

Josh Dykoff went 2-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs for WDC.

Gabe Grimsley went 2-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Pillager. Conner Hanson tallied two hits including double and two RBIs for the Huskies.

Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale splits

BERTHA — Cole Weishalla tallied three hits including two doubles over two games as the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders split with Parkers Prairie 6-5 and 3-2 Friday, April 30.

Weishalla was the starting pitcher for BHV in Game One and pitched seven innings with five strikeouts in the win.

Kobe Hinzmann ripped a triple for the Raiders in Game One.

In Game Two, Josh Johnson went 2-3 with a double in the Raiders loss.

Weishalla also had a double. Torii Hagen pitched six innings and struck out three in the loss.
