SAUK RAPIDS — Jonathan Lerma struck out six over eight innings, but it was the one earned run that cost him and the Central Lakes College Raiders a chance to advance through the winner’s bracket as they fell 1-0 to Riverland in the opening round of the Region 13 tournament Friday, May 14.

Lerma allowed just four hits and three walks, but suffered the loss. He threw 101 pitches and 62 were for strikes.

Jack Suska was 2-4 and Gunnar Wicklund doubled for CLC. Jake Kapphahn collected the Raiders’ only other hit and Reese Kapsner walked twice.

Raiders 8, NDSCS 7

ST. CLOUD — Gunnar Wicklund went 2-5 with a home run, double, two runs and four RBIs in the Central Lakes College Raiders 8-7 win over North Dakota State College of Science Friday, May 14, in the loser’s bracket of the Region 13 tournament.

Adam Braun ripped a double for two RBIs and Jack Suska tallied two hits.

Preston Rocheleau pitched all 7.1 innings for the Raiders and struck out five. Nolan Notch finished with three strikeouts in 1.2 innings of relief.

Eli Roberts also tallied two hits and Phillip Zynda notched two RBIs to keep CLC alive.
