Basketball: 2-way tie atop YMCA league

Mark Hoge tallied 29 points and John Hoge 14 to lead Moe's Contracting/Cornerstone Liquor to a 69-57 victory over Kurilla Real Estate during the YMCA Men's League.

Corbin Pikula led Kurilla with 17 points and Tom Nicol added 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Moe's is tied with Lakewood Health Systems on top of the league standings with matching 8-1 records.

Lakewood topped 9th St. Social Club 66-50 as Jordan Riewer paved the way with 21 points and eight rebounds. Joe Webster added 19 points.

9th St. was led by Joe Sparks' 12 points. George Washington added 11.

Justin, Clasen & Company defeated Wheeler Appraisals 65-56 to remain in striking distance of the leaders at 8-2. Anthony Kelley Jr. finished with 15 points and six rebounds and Joel Schramm added 14 and seven.

Dylan Wheeler's 18 points and five rebounds paced his team in the losing cause. Devin Janousek added 13 points.

Jesse Smithson tallied 17 points and Riley Kline 15 to lead Lakes Chiropractic to a 76-50 victory over the winless Wolves.

Hayden Brooks posted 14 points and eight rebounds and Jake Christenson added 13 and six in the loss.

Shep's defeated Grayden Outdoors 62-46 as Braeden Wangness scored 16 points and Cole Hunstad added 12.

Grayden was led by Malik Young's 23 points and five rebounds. Lars Ronnevik added 12 points.

Shamor Newman's 28 points led Holiday Inn Express to a 67-60 win over American Family Insurance. Chris Karels added 16 points in the win.

Byron Ninham tallied 19 point and seven rebounds in the loss with Joe Hoelscher added 13 points.
