Area Girls Basketball: PR-B wins Northwoods Championship, Flyers eliminated

PINE RIVER—Pine River-Backus senior Bailey Wynn registered 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 62-55 win over the Red Lake Warriors for the Northwoods Conference Championship Tuesday, Feb. 26.

PR-B senior Alyssa Semmler contributed 18 rebounds with 15 points, and senior Gabby Rainwater tallied 11 points with 14 rebounds.

The Tigers recorded their 17th consecutive win and end their regular season undefeated in the conference at 12-0, 23-4 overall.

"It's nice to win the North versus South game," said head coach Randy Schwegel. "It was good for us to play a tough game before playoffs, and I am very proud of how the girls responded to the adversity." Schwegel said.

Fergus Falls 60, Little Falls 24

FERGUS FALLS—The seventh-seeded Little Falls Flyers were eliminated in the Section 8-3A quarterfinals 60-24 by the second-seeded Fergus Falls Otters Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The Flyers trailed 44-13 at halftime and finished 2-25.
