Cam Christiansen of Nisswa and the NNW Biathlon Club finished 51st in the first Youth Men's race at the World Youth and Junior Biathlon Championships in Belarus.
The 12.5km individual event adds 45 seconds to the ski time for each missed shot.
Christiansen shot 2,2,0,1, and finished in 41:40, 1:56 behind the first USA finisher, Paul Everett of Seattle who also had five misses and 6:35 behind overall winner Kirill Streltosov, Russia, who had two penalties.
Teams from 31 nations participated.
