Cam Christiansen, Nisswa, NNW Biathlon Club, won the youth men's class and was second overall in the 11.4km Rollerski Biathlon Event at Elk River on Sunday.
Christiansen stayed with leader Jakob Ellingson on the first 2.3 km ski leg, but dropped to fourth during the first shooting in prone by missing three while Ellingson cleaned his five targets and skipped the 150-meter penalty loop entirely.
Zean Baker, Nisswa, NNW, who finished fourth, missed only one in the first shooting and moved into second place. Jalen Betsinger, Madison Wis., a NNW associate, missed two and moved to third.
The next event will be the Fall Festival Oct. 19 at Elk River.
