Cam Christiansen of the Nisswa Northwest Biathlon Club won the 11.5km mass start event Tuesday at the Snowflake Nordic Center in Duluth.
Christiansen shot 0,0,2,1, finishing in 37:25. He was 55 seconds ahead of runner-up Noah Brammer of Twin Cities Biathlon who shot 2,2,3,3. In fifth place was Evan Ingebrigtsen of Baxter and NNW who shot 3,1,2,2, and finished in 51:36.
Christiansen leaves Saturday for Europe to join the U.S. team competing in the International Biathlon Union Junior Cup Open European Junior Championships and the Youth and Junior World Championships.
In the women's 11.5km event Tuesday, Hanne Guthrie of NNW won by shooting 3,3,2,3, and finished in 44:33.
In boys 7.5km, Devin Emslander of Brainerd and NNW finished third shooting 1,2,0,2, in 40:33.

In boys 4.5 km, Jalen Emslander of Brainerd and NNW shot 1,4, and finished in 26:39.
The next event will be Jan. 28 in Nisswa.
