WILLMAR-Brandon Burggraff recorded 18 points for the Brainerd Warriors as they fell 73-59 to the Willmar Cardinals in a Central Lakes Conference matchup Thursday.
Chris Karels added 12 and Taylor Shelito 10 as Brainerd lost its seventh straight game.
"We played a very good team and competed hard," said Warriors head coach Scott Stanfield. "We missed several easy baskets and shot 6-for-16 from the free throw line which really hampered our effort. Our defensive effort in the second half was much better. We will continue to work hard and hopefully shots and free throws will start falling for us."
The Cardinals, who remained unbeaten (14-0), are ranked seventh in Class 3A.
