Boys Basketball: Four Warriors in double digits in victory

WILLMAR - Four Warriors reached double figures, led by Kobe Ahonen's 19 points, as Brainerd defeated the Willmar Cardinals 69-48 in a Central Lakes Conference contest Tuesday night.

Michael Russell came off the bench to add 15 while going six of seven from the field including three of four from beyond the arc. Jack Geraets added 13 points and Chris Pederson contributed 12 along with along with four assists and five steals.

"We played a really good game on both sides of the ball," said Brainerd head coach Scott Stanfield. "Offensively, we shared the ball great and had four guys in double figures.

"Logan Madsen had a terrific defensive game holding their leading scorer (Noah Slagter) to seven points. Michael Russell had 15 off the bench and Kobe Ahonen and Chris Pederson played well inside.

The Warriors beat the Cardinals 62-36 Jan. 9.
