BEMIDJI-Michael Bieganek scored 20 points for the Brainerd Warriors in a 76-68 loss to the Bemidji Lumberjacks in a non-conference game Tuesday.

Michael Russell added 16 points and Chris Karels 15 as Brainerd shot just 36 percent from the field.

The Lumberjacks won for the fifth time in their last six games and moved to 17-7 overall, while the Warriors dropped to 10-15.

"We dug ourselves into a hole and came back to within four points but we couldn't overcome the deficit," said Warriors coach Scott Stanfield. "It was a very physical game with a huge amount of fouls called early which really chopped up the game."

Brainerd plays its final regular-season game Friday at home against Sauk Rapids.
