FERGUS FALLS-Michael Russell led the Brainerd Warriors with 18 points during their 70-58 Central Lakes Conference loss to the Fergus Falls Otters Monday.
Joey Sauer added 10 points for the Warriors who have lost five straight. The Otters, who have won five of their last six, entered the game in second place in the CLC.
"We played a very sloppy first half of basketball, and played a much better second half on both sides of the ball," said Warriors Coach Scott Stanfield. "We dug a huge hole and cut it to 10 with a minute left, which really showed the no-quit attitude of our kids."
Nathan Rund and Matthew Monke each scored 16 for the Otters.
