SAUK RAPIDS - Kobe Ahonen's 13 points and eight rebounds led Brainerd as the Warriors were defeated 75-66 by the Sauk Rapids Storm in Thursday night's Central Lakes Conference game.
Logan Madsen, Jack Geraets and Steve Severson each scored 10 and Hunter Casper nine for Brainerd, which shot just 36 percent from the field and lost for the first time in seven games against the Storm.
Madsen and Casper each grabbed seven rebounds and the Warriors slipped to 7-7 overall.
"We played well at times, but shot poorly from the line and the field," said Warrior head coach Scott Stanfield. "(Sauk Rapids is) much improved and to their credit played better in longer stretches. Hunter Casper played well after Ahonen got in early foul trouble, and Steven Severson came off the bench and played well.
"We missed 15 shots in the lane, and could not overcome that."
