WAYZATA-Joey Sauer scored 24 points and Chris Karels added 15 as the Brainerd Warriors fell to the Wayzata Trojans 68-65 Tuesday.
Trailing by six points at the half, the Warriors outscored the Trojans 37-34 in the second half. The Trojans, Class 4A's ninth-ranked team according to the Quality Results Formula, held on to improve to 14-7.
Brainerd saw its two-game win streak end.
"We played hard all game but had too many live ball turnovers that were turned into transition points by Wayzata," said Brainerd head coach Scott Stanfield.
"Joey Sauer had one of his best games as a varsity player. Chris Karels and Owen Davis also had nice games on both sides of the ball. We continue to get better in all areas, which is rewarding as we head down the stretch."
