MOORHEAD--Brandon Burggraff snared 13 rebounds and contributed nine points as the Brainerd Warriors defeated the Moorhead Spuds 68-52 Saturday in a game between Section 8-4A schools.

Michael Russell's 20 points paced the Warriors who led 38-21 at the half. Chris Karels added 15 points, Joey Sauer 10 and Ben Staehling nine against the Spuds who dropped 1-9 overall.
"We played a nice game on the road," Warriors coach Scott Stanfield said. "Michael Russell had to sit eight minutes in the first half due to foul trouble and I was pleased to see we were able to expand the lead before half without him. It was a nice team win and all the kids played well."
