Boys Basketball: Warriors drop another close game

WAYZATA — Brainerd’s Connor Powers posted 24 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Warriors as they fell 82-80 to the Wayzata Trojans Friday, Feb. 7.

Griffin Rushin collected 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots as Brainerd built a 43-40 lead over the Trojans. Owen Davis and Nathaniel Staehling each scored 10 points. Davis added five rebounds and five assists before fouling out.

Brainerd shot 83% (15-of-18) from the line compared to Wayzata’s 38% (5-of-13).

Brainerd has lost its last two games by a combined three points.
