Boys Basketball: Warriors score season-opening road win

The Brainerd Warriors boys basketball team opened its season at Rogers.

ROGERS — John Pecarich finished with 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists as the Brainerd Warriors shot 67.4% from the field to secure the season-opening 80-75 victory over the Rogers Royals in a Section 8-4A matchup Friday, Dec. 3.

Mitchell Degen tallied 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while Cam Engholm recorded 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists in his first game in more than a year.

Nick Evanson chipped in 12 points for the Warriors who next host Willmar 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9.
