SAUK CENTRE-Joe Foley tied for medalist honors and Brainerd maintains the lead in the team standings following Wednesday's first round of the Section 8-3A tournament at Greystone Golf Course.
Foley's opening round of 75 has him tied for the lead with Sauk Rapids' Nick Guzek. Andrew Muesing, Danny Olson and Gavin Metz all came in at 77, tied for sixth place.
Brainerd's team total of 306 gives the Warriors an eight-stroke lead over second-place Moorhead's 314.
The top six teams and top 12 individuals not on those teams advance to the final round Thursday at Greystone Golf Course.
