COLD SPRING-Gavin Metz shot a 1-over 73 to win by five strokes and lead the Brainerd Warriors to first in Friday's Pre-Section 8-3A meet at Rich Springs Golf Course.
Metz was five shots better than runner-up and teammate Jack Evans, who fired a 78. Danny Olson tied for 17th with an 84 and Erik Stoxen landed in a tie for 20th with his 85.
Cody Evans was a shot back and 86 and Luke Anderson rounded out the roster with an 89.
Brainerd topped Alexandria by eight strokes for the victory.
