Boys Golf: Warriors move on to 2nd round

PARK RAPIDS--Gavin Metz and Cole Proctor each shot a 75 in the opening round of the Section 8-3A tournament Wednesday, May 29, at Headwaters Golf Club.

PARK RAPIDS-Gavin Metz and Cole Proctor each shot a 75 in the opening round of the Section 8-3A tournament Wednesday, May 29, at Headwaters Golf Club.

The Warriors team finished fourth overall and moved on to the second day of competition as a team, as the top six teams advanced to the second round.

Bjorn Jorgenson of Bemidji is the leader with a 70 after the first round.

The Warriors Evan Quinn shot a 77 and is in 15th place, while Cody Evans, Danny Olson and Erik Stoxen all finished with a 79 and are in 20th place.

After the second round, the top team and the top five qualifiers will advance to the state tournament.
