MOORHEAD-Anthony Menghini and Wyatt Andres netted the only two goals for the Brainerd Warriors who were defeated 5-2 by the Moorhead Spuds in a Section 8-2A matchup Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Class 2A's 20th-ranked Warriors took a 2-1 lead into the final period only to see the 12th-ranked Spuds put the game away with four unanswered goals.
Warrior goalie Jacob Mitchell recorded 32 saves as Moorhead outshot Brainerd 37-18.
Moorhead beat Brainerd 5-1 Nov. 27 in the Warriors' season opener.
The Spuds are 9-1 against section opponents, 17-6-1 overall, while Brainerd is 7-4 in the section and 15-9 overall.
