Boys Hockey: Warriors and St. Cloud Tech/Apollo play to a tie

ST. CLOUD — Josh McLain and Kaleb Sunquist each score first period goals as Brainerd jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their Central Lakes Conference opener at St. Cloud Tuesday, Dec 3.

St. Cloud’s Luke Johnson tallied a goal in the first period and another in the second period to tie the game. The two teams played the third period and eight minutes of overtime with the game ending in a 2-2 tie.

St. Cloud outshot Brainerd 18-17. Luke Saiko totaled 16 saves in net for the Warriors.

“We played hard but had a tough time finishing,” said Brainerd head coach Dave Aus. “Playing last night may have taken a bit out of us. We battled and I am proud of the guys.”
