DULUTH — Eric Pohlkamp scored two goals and Jed Klang kicked away 35 shots as Brainerd and Duluth East played to a 3-3 tie Wednesday, Feb. 6, in a non-conference game.
Haden Kruse opened the scoring at the 5:13 mark of the first half. Pohlkamp notched his first goal on assists from Christian Kadolph and Ian Aadland at 9:26 as the Warriors took a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period.
A power play goal from Pohlkamp, with assists to Aadland and Kadolph, with one second left in the period gave Brainerd a 3-1 lead heading to the third.
The Greyhounds responded with two goals in the third period to tie the game as East’s Ryan Cummings scored to make it a one-goal game with 6:09 left, and Cole Christian scored with 37 seconds left to force overtime.
Neither team found the net in overtime.

The Warriors put 34 shots on goal. The Warriors outshot the Greyhounds 43-41.
“It was a great game,” said Brainerd head coach Dave Aus. “We were up 3-1 going into the third. Two nice power plays goals and our goaltender Jed Klang was really good. The question will be how good are we tomorrow.”
