Boys Hockey: Warriors outshoot Storm 48-7 in 5-1 victory

Cole Ball scored two goals and the Brainerd Warriors outshot the Sauk Rapids Storm 48-7 in a 5-1 Central Lakes Conference victory Tuesday at Essentia Health Sports Center.

Jack Evans opened the scoring for Brainerd 34 seconds into the contest before Sauk Rapids knotted the score on a power play with one second left in the opening period.

The Warriors came out buzzing to start the second limiting the Storm, 0-11 in the conference, to just three shots for the rest of the game while peppering the Sauk Rapids net with 38 shots.

In the second, Josh Howieson found the net on a power play and Sam Selisker punched in a short-handed goal.

Ball wrapped up the Warrior scoring with a pair of goals six seconds apart to start the third period with Eric Stout assisting on both. Matt Fischer contributed three assists.

Brainerd is second in the CLC standings with a 6-1-1 record and is 11-7-1 overall.
