James Engen stopped 26 of 27 shots and Brainerd scored two power-play goals on its way to a 3-1 victory over the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars in a non-conference game Saturday at Essentia Health Sports Center.
The Warriors scored the game's first three goals as Mason Kruse, Gavin Andres and Jack Evans found the back of the net. Engen shut out the Jaguars, who have lost seven in a row, until three seconds remained in the second period.
Riley Andres picked up two assists for Brainerd which improved to 8-5-1 overall. The Warriors have eight days off before playing at Moorhead.
