COLLEGEVILLE-Gabe Smith flicked in two goals as the Brainerd Warriors lost 17-4 to St. Cloud Tech/Apollo/Cathedral in their season and varsity program opener Monday at St. John's University.
Alex Engholm totalled one goal and two assists and Jared Marthaler contributed a goal for the Warriors.
Brainerd, 0-1, hosts Grand Rapids at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27.
