MAPLE GROVE-Taylor Shelito recorded the Brainerd Warriors lone goal as they fell 3-1 to Maple Grove in Saturday's Section 8-2A semifinals.

Maple Grove was the top seed, while the Warriors were seeded No. 4.

"It is always hard to end the season, especially for our seniors Tim Whiteman, Taylor Shelito, Gus Robinson, Tanner Larson, Ian Forsythe, Ben Westerberg and Mason Wales, who were the heart and soul of this team," Warriors coach Tom Grausam said. "They elevated everyone's game, including tonight.

"In the future we will continue to improve in our offseason and we look forward to trying to win the section next year. I look forward to coaching the boys next year. Overall, it was a great season for the boys with many accomplishments."

Nick Whiteman assisted on Shelito's goal and Warriors keeper Noah Sundberg made two saves.
