WILLMAR-Griffin Blegen owned the short distance freestyle events and swam on two winning relays for the Brainerd Warriors who outswam the Willmar Cardinals 98-80 in a Central Lakes Conference meet Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Blegen won the 50- and 100-yard free races and teamed up with Andy Dillon, Cody Evans and Tristan Dawson to win the 200 medley relay. He also anchored the winning 200 free relay behind Dawson, Dillon and Connor Lund.
Also winning individual events were Dillon in the 200 individual medley, Dawson in the 100 backstroke, Evans in the 100 breaststroke and Izaac Herrlich led a Brainerd sweep in the diving competition.
The Warriors improved to 3-1 in the conference and 4-1 overall.
